Andrew Bailey to Red Sox

The Red Sox acquired 2 time All Star Andrew Bailey from the Oakland Athletics. He was also the 2009 American League Rookie of the Year. After the Red Sox couldn’t get their old closer Jonathan Paplebon back, they were in need of a new and great closer. As we know Paplebon went to the Philadelphia Phillies. It was a trade between the two teams. The trade was Andrew Bailey and Ryan Sweeny to the Red Sox and Josh Reddick and two prospects, Miles Head and Raul Alcantatra. Prospects are players who are on the Red Sox system but on their minor league team.
Andrew Bailey was born inNew Jersey and is reportedly happy to be with a top contender in the American League. Andrew Bailey says, “I’m very excited. This is where my family and I live in the offseason”. Bailey is 27 and pitched in 42 games last season and saved 24 games.
He was out the first two months of the last season because of a muscle pull in his right forearm. But he has recovered from that and has never felt better in his life.Boston’s relievers are starting to do better and Bailey will motivate them to beat ‘dem Yanks and take that division.
